The DC25 is an excellent vacuum for pet hair. The accessories are an absolute delight. I have owned one since the summer of 2009. You will not be disappointed.

I do have a few quibbles with it though.

The bin is ridiculously small.

Compared to most of the other Dyson models that I own, the cord length is noticeably shorter.

Finally the red (mine is red, but can be blue) foot pedal feels flimsy but it has lasted all this time so its probably not a big deal.

Having gotten that off my chest, the suction power feels greater than that of the earlier Dyson models like the DC07 or Dc15 Animal and that in itself is amazing.

Good luck with your new vacuum!

I just cherish my wonderful Electrolux vacuum cleaner and shampooer. It definitely blows when your cats leave little nasties all over the condo for you ;-)

Hi, nice article about the best vacuum out there for dog hair. I am really pissed off about how dog hair can be all over the place. So thank for the information you have here in this post. I think DC07 is the best one. because according to my research, it really has a good features compared to the other products out there in the market. Overall, thanks for the information.

I’am thinking of getting a golden Retriever as a puppy for my daughter. Is this a solid choice? Is a Golden Retriever good with small children? My daughter is 6 years old.

Golden retrievers are generally very good with children. However, make sure you meet the puppy before you bring him/her to meet your daughter. After you get the dog do not leave your child and dog unsupervised. Be aware that golden retrievers do shed a lot.

Having said that you will be enriched by the inclusion of a golden retriever in your family. I have interacted with more than 3000 dogs over a nine year period, in my opinion a golden retriever is the best family dog breed to get.

I'll second your opinion on the Hoover UH30010COM, my favorite by far! I've also had some experience with a number of Dyson's, and love your "Cheerio's" problem. They do have excellent customer service however.

Great site, thanks for sharing so much great info. I've bookmarked it to come back to later.

Thanks for the advice and the video. I also run a small dog care service in my home. Having two Black Labradors of my own I know about shedding. It was not until I started the service and got white dogs to look after, when my problem really started. I have just ordered the new Dyson DC25 Animal from Comet. Hope it works
