Since 2001 I have been in search of the best vacuum for dog hair. I run a dog day care and boarding facility, so the search for the elusive ideal vacuum seemed critical. But I eventually realized that there was no perfect pet fur vacuum. Each vacuum had its own strength and weakness. However many vacuums were virtually helpless when it came to removing pet hair. Removing dog hair in carpets was especially challenging in the winter when 15 or more dogs were panting heavily from indoor play and a room’s relative humidity varied wildly which resulted in more moisture in carpets. Animal fur gets increasingly difficult to remove the more moisture is in a rug.
